Rochdale borough–wide
Culture & Placemaking Team (RDA)
The Culture and Placemaking Team aims to maximise the positive socio-economic impact of arts and culture across the borough of Rochdale. We work with and through partners to support the sustainable development of the boroughs creative businesses; design accessible creative space;, develop employment and training opportunities; creative learning experiences for our Children & Young People and local communities; and bring innovative and engaging cultural experiences to Rochdale showcasing our borough as great place to live, work, play and visit.
Rochdale Development Agency’s Culture & Placemaking team was established in 2023 and covers six functions:
- Culture & Arts Development
- Mayor Festivals & Events
- Middleton Town Centre
- Placemaking
- Visitor Economy
- Film Office
We are dedicated to making a positive change in Rochdale, bringing together partners across the borough, Greater Manchester and further afield to galvanise opportunities for Rochdale’s diverse communities, creatives, young people and businesses.
Our main function is to connect and facilitate partners to come together to create high quality, meaningful projects and outcomes for our borough.
We lead on the delivery of Rochdale’s Cultural Compact, Rochdale Creates.
