A. To list something on the Rochdale Creates website, start by ​creating a profile. Once your profile is set up, you’ll be able to share news, opportunities, events, and spaces with the local creative community. It's quick and easy to get started! 

A. It can take up to 2 working days for a listing to be approved and uploaded. If it has been longer than 2 working days check your inbox and junk folder, we may require some more information from you. If you haven't been ​contacted since your submission confirmation, please contact us.

A. To ensure we know where listings are coming from, all event uploads must be linked to an existing directory listing. If you don’t have one yet, simply ​​create a profile, and then you can upload your event! 

A. Here’s how to list multiple performances or dates: 

• Two Performances on One Day: List the first performance time in the title and include details of the second performance in the main description. 
• Two Performances on Non-Consecutive Days: Create separate listings for each performance. 
• Run of Dates (e.g., Pantomime or Play): Add one listing with the end date as the final performance date. In the description, you can either list all event dates or note: “See website for full dates and times.” 

And for recurring classes or events? 

• Weekly: Create a single entry with a distant end date to prevent it from expiring. 
• Monthly: Create a new entry for each month's class or event. 

A. Select the £0-£5 price category and be sure to mention in your listing that it is a "pay what you feel" event. This will help attendees understand the pricing structure while keeping it clear. 

A. If you need to include additional information not covered in the ‘Event Details’ section, simply add it to the ‘Event Main Description’ box. 

For example, if your event has multiple pricing options, you can mention “Price from the lowest price” and provide a breakdown of the full pricing in the description. 

A. Events will only be listed in the price category it falls in, for example, an event that costs £12 per ticket will show up in the £10-£15 category and will not be listed in searches for £16-£20 events.  

A. No, any event listings that have passed will automatically be taken down.  

A. To be eligible for the ‘Training & Development’ section, the listing must focus on professional skills or business-focused training (rather than a public / participant workshop like a school’s circus workshop), be based in Rochdale Borough, or offered by partners primarily in Greater Manchester. ​Online sessions are also eligible if they are relevant to Rochdale Borough-based artists.

A. No, we list funding opportunities from our partners and also actively search for national funding options that could be beneficial for Rochdale creatives. Be sure to check the weblinks on each listing for full details and eligibility criteria.

A. If certain sections of the form, like opening times, aren’t relevant to you or your business, simply leave them blank. Feel free to provide the information that best represents your work and services. 

A. Use a free online image compression tool: There are many online tools that can compress images, such as Smallpdf.com and JPG Size Reducer. 

A. Here are the image requirements for optimal display: 

• Upload Size: The maximum file size for images is 1MB. 
• Image Usage: The uploaded image will serve as the main header for the event page (landscape orientation) and will automatically resize for the ‘What’s On’ page (square format). 
• Image Composition: Ensure the main focus is centered and avoid using images with text, as this may get clipped in grid view. 
• Recommended Dimensions: The ideal pixel size is 900 (w) x 450 (h). 

A. No, a listing on Rochdale Creates is a free service, and it does not imply endorsement by the Council or the Rochdale Development Agency (RDA). We recommend that you check references and carry out due diligence before entering into any contracts. Check our Terms & Conditions page for full details on our eligibility criteria.

A. To make changes to your directory entry, simply log in again and update the details in the backend. Please note that your entry will go offline temporarily while we review the changes, within 2 working days. 

A. Don’t worry - if you’ve made any changes to your entry, it will temporarily go offline while we review it in the backend. It will be back online within 2 working days (or sooner). If you haven’t made any changes, please get in touch with via our Contact Us page and we’ll look into it for you.

No, Rochdale Creates Space is not the same as the ‘Spaces’ section. Rochdale Creates Space is a partner programme aimed at transforming vacant town centre buildings into creative spaces, while the ‘Spaces’ section lists bookable venues within the Rochdale Borough for creative events and activities. More details can be found on the ​website. 

A: No! There are no membership fees to join any of the networks. All we ask is that you contribute proactively, embracing the collaborative spirit that Rochdale is known for. It’s all about working together to make our creative community thrive. 

A. It always goes out monthly, usually in the second week of the month. Occasionally we will send an additional newsletter out about a specific group of opportunities. 

A. Some of the networks have their own newsletters, which you can subscribe to via their network page. The Create Rochdale newsletter is aimed at those working with children and young people, such as teachers, artists, and facilitators.  The Culture Co-op newsletter focuses on free creative and cultural opportunities for local residents to get involved with, from small workshops to large-scale art productions. 

A. If you add an opportunity or news story to the Rochdale Creates site, it’s likely we’ll include it in the newsletter. If you'd like to specifically request something be featured, get in touch with via our Contact Us page - and we’ll do our best to include it, subject to relevance and available space!
