May Wild Studio are locally based artists, designers and educators Rebecca May and Michael Wild. They are the co-founders of social arts practice May Wild Studio, creating public artworks challenging the conventions between visual and traditional craft making.
Using storytelling, collaboration and participatory projects, their work raises awareness and encourages conversation around themes of storytelling, people and place and local/global environmental issues. Combining traditional craft methods with new technologies and materials they are passionate about the co-create process and working with people to create art. They have over 20 years combined arts teaching, designing, curating and engagement experience across Greater Manchester and Yorkshire in FE/HE education, charities ,galleries, councils and arts organisations.

Rochdale Town Hall Reborn - Lead artists creating 3 co-create art commissions Including: The Bright Hall - 8 panel artwork, Mayors Dining Room - Ceramic installation and The Martlet Restaurant - Wall Archaeological Mosaic Designs - co-created with 12 communities across Rochdale.
2023 - Ekhaya/Home/Wom mural for The Old Courts Wigan/English Heritage - co-creating a public mural with women’s group Ekhaya Empowerment CIO.
2022 - 'Tame' for Tameside Council - Stories of Stalybridge Waterways for Stalybridge Town of Culture co-creating with Tameside communities.
2022 - 'Many Types of Graces' for RNCM/Corridor of Light in Manchester - co-creating a light/text installation artwork and sound installation with International Music Students.
2021 - Radical Kindness ‘Seed’ Mural, participatory public artwork commissioned by Action Together CIO working with communities across Oldham.
2020 - Snowy ‘Owl’dham – Window Wonderland Commissioned by Oldham Council – paper and light installation – to encourage the public to access art outdoors during the pandemic. Themed around community and sense of place.
2020 - 50 Windows of Creativity – Coo Bird Window – commissioned by Bee in the City/Manchester Council. 50 Manchester Creatives selected to create art installations in central Manchester and encourage access to the arts and outdoors during the pandemic.
