Hilda Hemingway is dedicated to making the arts accessible and inclusive for all and has worked extensively with a number of arts organisations developing and delivering creative workshops for and with the community. Clients include The Whitworth, Start In Salford, Cartwheel Arts, We Invented the Weekend, Rochdale Mind, Bolton Museum and Art Gallery and numerous schools, to name a few.
Her sessions and projects provide participants the opportunity to not only express themselves freely, connect with others but also play; something which is not only crucial for a happier, more cohesive community but also provides a rich learning ground. Whether that’s den building with families and children at the festival We Invented The Weekend or being involved in Bolton’s Town Of Culture summer programme, facilitating numerous free play creative sessions for the local community to engage with and enjoy. Furthermore, working within the creative and cultural sector for over 15 years, she has developed and facilitated creative projects and sessions using creativity as a tool to support participant’s mental health, as well as incorporating the 5 ways to well-being within those projects.
She has also received training in Trauma Informed Practice and is a certified First Aider and a Mental Health First Aider.
