Cath Dunn

Cath Dunn

Cath Dunn is an artist inspired by natural forms and a sense of place – rocks, trees, the lie of the land. Her interest lies in pattern, abstraction, movement and rhythm and through these she creates semi-abstract paintings linked to real and specific places.

Cath Dunn's work often reflects the edges of things, literally as in the gritstone edges of the Pennines or more obliquely as in the edges of life. As well as drawing inspiration from the Pennine landscape, she is particularly drawn to the edges of the country, to Orkney and Cornwall. Colour, influenced by living in Africa for many years, is central to her work. She has won awards for her work in mixed media, watercolour, oil and print.

Cath Dunn was selected for the Rochdale Town of Culture Outdoor Gallery.
