Burnside Centre celebrates its 56th anniversary this coming September - throughout their whole existence they have been purpose built to support the community and the people of Langley Estate - an area with a rich urban history and a place of great ideas!
Burnside Centre are open 50-weeks of the year, offering workshops, learning, support, voice and development opportunities. They have strong partnership links, a proven track record to deliver quality provision and long-lasting impact. As a registered charity they deliver their work under three themes: crisis, proactive and progressive. Under their progressive banner, they want to push the boundaries of where the creative world and art can meet with the fabric urban life on an ex-council estate.
Burnside Centre offer large scale ambitious projects to uplift the wider community, they listen to the community for the things they feel are lacking or causing's negatives impact locally because they are their community. Their aim is to be more expansive and creative in how we inspire others, offering new ways of engagement and maybe shifting peoples traditional expectations and assumptions of the arts within a grass roots context.
