Event Listing Guide

Welcome!

So you’re ready to promote your event on the Rochdale Creates website. You’ve got all your details to hand but need a bit of extra support or have a question. Check out this guide for common issues with uploading events. 

Dates

Multiple Occurrences

• Two Performances on One Day:
  • List the first performance time in the title
  • Add details about the second performance time in the main description.
• Two Performances on Non-Consecutive Days:
  • Create two separate event listings for each performance.
• Run of Dates (e.g., Pantomime or Play):
  • Add one event listing with the end date as the end of the run
  • In the description, either list all event dates or note: “See website for full dates and times.”

Recurring Classes/ events

• Weekly:
  • Make a single entry with a far-off end date to prevent expiration.
• Monthly:
  • Create a separate entry for each month’s class.

Additional Information

• If your event requires details not covered in the ‘Event Details’ section, include this in the ‘Event Main Description’ box.
  • For example, if there are multiple prices, mention “Price from the lowest price” and provide detailed pricing in the event details.

Image Requirements

• Upload Size: Maximum file size for images is 1MB.
• Image Usage: The uploaded image will serve as the main header for the event page (landscape orientation) and will automatically resize for the ‘What’s On’ page (square format).
• Image Composition: Ensure the main focus is centered and avoid using images with text as this may be clipped in grid view.
• Recommended Dimensions: Best dimensions are currently under review. Please check back for updates.
